Christmas, my most favorite holiday!

Holidays are something I like and I enjoy Christmas the most. This holiday is a holiday that lights up everyone’s happiness. Santa Claus is the one who grants all our wishes to make everyone be happy. When Christmas comes, one thing that makes everyone wonder is, what do I want for Christmas?I am saying this because scratching my head off for thinking of what I want to buy. Then I found out. I want an I Phone 4G.
Right now my dad already has the I Phone 2G and is using it as a cellphone.  My dad uses it the way everyone uses a cellphone and to browse things on the Internet. I want to use it to have fun by playing games, listening to songs, watching movies, and watch some stuff on YouTube. The I Phone 4G is more advanced which will make me get to things faster than the 2G version of it. I also want this because, most of the things I can do on the computer I can do on the I Phone which saves time for me setting the computer up when all I need to do is turn on the phone and go to the Internet icon.
As you might actually know, I am a kid who tries my best to work hard in school to get good grades. I spend lots of time paying attention to what my parents say and my teachers in school say. Though, I think it takes a lot of time for me to do my homework and sometimes I need to use the computer for my homework, I think if I get the I Phone 4G I don’t really need to use up most of my time just to get on the Internet in the computer when the I Phone already has like a mini computer in it. This will help me do things quicker and have more fun on it.
I know you will have a hard time getting presents for people all over the world. It will be a really good thing if you grant me my holiday wish I asked about and make me happy. It is o.k. whether or not you granted my, but I am really thankful for all the presents you gave me throughout my life as I lived.
THANK YOU

Thanksgiving Rocks!

Thanksgiving is an important thing. It gives you a happy time to spend with your family and friends. That is why I am doing a research on Thanksgiving and it's myths and facts. One of the myths I saw was that the pilgrims ate turkey on there 1st Thanksgiving. One fact I saw about Thanksgiving was that in History.com, actually that the first Thanksgiving actually took place in between September 21st and November 11th. It was also a 3 day fest and not a 1 day thing like what we do right now. I got a lot of facts about Thanksgiving and I am looking forward to it.

I am Thankful for...

A lot of things help me which make me become grateful for it. The most important one is my family, especially my parents. Everything is good for me because of them. They help me get good grades in school and they help me have lots of fun in and outside home. I like games, and the reason how I get them is parents. What ever I get is because of my parents. My life is better and happier because of them. I am grateful to my parents, a lot!

Last year of Halloween with my friends

The Last Year with my Friends!
The assignment for this week is to take an object or something like that from your game board that you made about three weeks ago. You have to do a childhood vignette about it.
That was one happy Halloween night with my friends. It was a dark and cloudy night. My friends came to call me to play outside. We were playing basketball outside. We were talking about what we are going to be that night for Halloween. Then my friend asked me, “What are you going to be for Halloween, Sai?” I said, “A magician.” At about 7:00, we went home to get dressed and start Halloween.
While I was walking home, I was thinking about next year’s Halloween. When I reached home, I went inside and asked my mom to get my costume for me. I was still thinking about next year’s Halloween. I was wearing my costume now and I felt like dummy. I looked nothing like a magician. I thought that my friends were going to start laughing and making fun of me. When my mom dressed me as a magician, she started taking photos of me. “Mom, don’t take a photo of me! Do you really want me to get embarrassed of how I look when I was a kid!? ” I yelled. My mom said, “ I am taking a picture of how you looked at this age. No one will laugh at you. I promise. If you still don’t want me to take a picture, I won’t show you any other pictures of anything.” “Oh fine, take a picture, but only one.” I grunted. Finally, after my mom took a picture of me, I went outside to start the night for Halloween.
Then I went to go get my friends that were nearby. Then I found them walking down the street coming to get me. I caught up with them, and then we started. Since Halloween time didn’t even start, we thought of doing a prank on one of the bullies who always falls for everything. We don’t like him because he always takes our stuff. We thought of doing something very special that would make him be scared. I found a toy cockroach on my pants of the costume, and I got a very good idea that would make him jump straight out of his Halloween costume into his underwear. When he came out of his house I jumped right at him, and he fell. That was our time. Our plan was to put the cockroach in his pants of the costume. So we went for it. It was quite hard cause because he was big, fat, and strong, according to us. After all we are in third grade and he is in fifth grade. But, mission accomplished. He started chasing after us but we got away because we were fast enough.
Then we got our bags and started trick-or-treating from the building we got away from, because everyone came from their houses and started to. We were going from building to building getting as much candy as possible. Then we saw the whole bully gang. The guy that we did the prank to was in there. I think he found out that it was just a toy. Since he saw us, we ran from building to building as collecting candy and running as fast as Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario and Luigi from Super Mario. And when we looked at our bags, I was happy we ran like maniacs. We had a candy bag that weighed about a ton. We had so much candy. My friends and I were talking till we got home, and then we left. When we got home I was like, oh my god! There goes Halloween. I went to the window and I said, “Bye, Bye Halloween. See you next year.” And there it goes. The time.

PATRIOTISM YOU ROCK!

DOES PATRIOTISM STILL MATTER?
By: SAI
Does Patriotism still matter?  This got me thinking and it is a yes.  When we got freedom, it was from our American Military.  Patriotism is a freedom for our U.S.  This word Patriotism reminds me of a lot of things.  Americans that were in the war, wanted to help us and to make  America in a better place.
Patriotism is a word that makes me give respect to the army and the military.  The army and the military is what gave us our freedom.  People who fought for us in the war is a hero. They did that for all the humans to be happy.  This Patriotism is a way that we got liberty.  Yes, Patriotism does matter and it will.  Patriotism was something that helped us years and years ago.  It helped us in lots and lots of wars.  I am sure it still matters because it helped us in the past, and I know it can help us during the present and the future.  In the future, if there are going to be any wars going on, I am sure Patriotism will be there to help us at any time we need help.  When you say Patriotism, the most important thing that everyone remembers and thinks that is related to Patriotism is our American Flag, and our soldiers that fought in the war for us to have nice freedom and to win the war, when my friends and my parents sometimes talk about Patriotism or things like that, the thing I remember about it is the flag and the soldiers just like I told you the way most people remember.  When we talk about the 13 colonies, that reminds me of the war and the other stuff like it.  Patriotism still matter because it helped us from getting hard from the war.
Patriotism matters a lot to me!

My Reaction on Ralph Fletcher's Excerpts

This week in Herbert Hoover Middle School,we were reading five excerpts from Ralph Fletcher's childhood stories. We heard some stories that were fun to hear and some that were emotional that were sad. For the
blog post that we are doing this week, my English teacher, Ms.Patalano, thought it was a good idea to do this as a post and see what we say about the excerpts that Ralph Fletcher wrote about. It was called Marshfield Dreams:When I Was a Kid.

In Marshfield Dreams:When I Was a Kid, he describes more about his childhood things that happened at his time. In each excerpt he describes a lot about that character, thing, or place. He uses a way technique that makes a way that everyone can read without using words that most people don't even know what they mean. The way he writes, shows that he is using 1st person point of view.

In one of his excerpts "Marshfield," he states, " The woods held magical things. We found snake skins, real Indian arrowheads, box turtles, beehives, snake spit on tall grass." (Fletcher, 2005, 4). In this excerpt and sentences, he describes what the forest behind his house has. He is explaining the things that he sees behind his house in the forest.

In one of his other excerpt "Bobby" he stated, "Bobby never got a chance to grow up. In his last year of high school he was killed in a car accident." This excerpt gave the reader an emotional feeling for the character that Ralph was mostly taking about in this vignette. Ralph made a way of making everyone give the character, Bobby, a sad feeling for when he died without having much experiences throughout his life.

Ralph Fletcher used a way of making everyone have a feeling in all the vignette/excerpt that he wrote based on his childhood stories and it had everything to do with him and surroundings.

THE OBJECT FROM MY BEST FRIEND!!!

Once my friend this year was moving to India. He didn't have enough room to take all of his stuff so he gave me some stuff so I can keep as a memory of him. He gave a lot of things to me that was his. Something my friend gave was something he really liked. It was a book. It was called Guinness World Record 2010. This book is informational and it is fun to read. This book tells you about the things that happened throughout the year, 2010. This book he likes because he it is informational to know about stuff happening in other places and it is really funny about what somethings look like. Since my friend really likes this book I keep it as my memory of my best friend.
